Droopy, the wolf, and red are the most memorable characters from the animated cartoons directed by fred tex avery for metro-goldwyn-mayer from 1943 to 1955. Many of these cartoons were made for adults first nad children as an afterthought. Tex avery was the undisputed master of the genre, and in 1942's the blitz wolf (his first cartoon for m-g-m) he introduced audiences to the wolf his first role that of a nazi commander, his second a hapless prisoner hounded remorselessly by droopy (dumb-hounded, 1943), his third the lusty, tuxedo-clad pursuer of the sexy red in red hot riding hood (1943). The wolf had a long and memorable career in avery's cartoons lasting through 1954's homesteader droopy. He usually played opposite droopy, yet his most famous pairing was with the alluring red in response to whose alluring singing and dancing he struck an unforgettable series of avery's best sight gags. Sculptor kent melton, the leading sculptor of animated characters for the past 15 years, has portrayed the wolf in a great three-dimensional take as he appears ni red hot riding hood. A limited edition of 750 cold-cast porcelain sculptures was produced form melton's original work each is numbered on the underside and packed in a decorative box. 8 1/2 in height on a 4 1/2 x 6 oval base that si signed on the underside by kent melton.Paypal rules require that purchases shipped outside the usa that are paid by paypal must be isnured and shipped via priority or express mail.
